Tom Seaver Thrilled To Have Piazza & Griffey Jr. Join Him In Cooperstown

In an interview on the MLB network with the Mad Dog Tom Seaver, he spoke about Mike Piazza joining him in the Hall of Fame. Seaver said Piazza was a great offensive player & he is happy to have him join him. The Mets now have a pitcher & offensive player representing the club in Cooperstown.

He also spoke about Ken Griffey Jr. receiving the highest amount of voting percentage to ever to be elected, beating out Tom Seaver who held that mark until yesterday.

Quotes: Tom Seaver- "Of course it did, yes, absolutely. "I was thrilled. There was going to be a time when somebody broke it and rightfully so in Junior. Junior was one hell of a player. Dedicated, etc. He has a great personality. I look forward to seeing him, absolutely in Cooperstown in July. He was a great everyday player, a pro's pro."

Seaver spoke of playing with Ken Griffey SR. saying he had a great sense of humor & was a bright guy.

"They're good guys, too. Just real good professionals" Seaver said

It was great to hear Tom Terrific talk from his vineyards in Napa Valley California. It had been a while since we heard from Seaver considering the Mets NL Championship season & visit to the World Series.
