Mets manager Terry Collins was ejected in the 4th inning, while arguing an out call as Darrell Ceciliani was attempting a steal of second base.
With two outs in the Mets 6th, Michael Cuddyer singled. Wilmer Flores then doubled down the left field line, brining in Cuddyer with the first run. In the 7th, Jacob deGrom, Dilson Herrera & Curtis Granderson all singled.
After a pitching change & Ruben Tejada striking out, Lucas Duda managed to slap a base hit against the shift on him toward the short stop position. deGrom scored with all he needed for the 2-0 win.
Jeurys Familia came on for a perfect 9th & the Mets had snapped their longest losing streak of the season. For deGrom it was his 8th win of the year getting him to 8-5 with a 2.15 ERA, one of the leagues best.
