Pedro Feliciano was born August 25, 1976 in Puerto Rico. He was originally signed by the Dodgers, released then signed by the Reds. He came over to the Mets for a player to be named later (Shawn Estes). As a 2002 September call up he made his debut against the Marlins pitching two scoreless innings. He was put on waivers by the Mets picked up then released by the Tigers, finding his way back to the Mets the next season. He bounced up down from Norfolk for two seasons, posting an ERA over five as a mid reliever in 2004. He spent 2005 pitching in Japan, then rejoined the Mets for 2006. '06 was his finest season, as the Mets left handed specialist. He went 7-2 with a 2.09 ERA in 60 innings pitched, appearing in 78 games. In the post season he earned the victory in the final game of the Mets sweep of the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Over all he appeared in six post season games, allowing one run & two hits in 4.2 innings pitched.
Feliciano became the Mets late inning situational left hander, leading the way to closer Billy Wagner. He appeared in 78 games in 2007 with a 3.09 ERA, only
allowing 3 HRs in 64 innings pitched. In 2008 he led the league in appearances with 86 but struggled a bit late due to a weakened bull pen going 3-4 with a 4.05 ERA. In 2009 he is again leading the league in appearances, always ready to pitch almost on a daily basis. He is 5-4 with a 2.94 ERA, and 45 strikeouts. Allowing 40 hits & 14 walks in 49 innings pitched. In these times of players bouncing around from team to team Feliciano finds himself being a member of the Mets for his seventh season. He is 18-13 lifetime with a 3.31 ERA.
