June 25, 1971: Gil Hodges 2nd place Mets come to Parc Jarry in Montreal only 3 ½ games out, for a Friday twi-night double header. Cleon Jones will set a record by walking six times in the twin bill helping the Mets to the sweep. In the first game Jones walked three times, off three different pitchers; Jim Btitton, Claude Raymond & Mike Marshall. He would score on Ed Kranepools two run single in the 7th for the winning run. Earlier Jerry Grote drove home Dave Marshall on a double and Marshall himself had an RBI single in the 5th.

Nolan Ryan scattered 11 Expo hits but only allowed one run to score in the complte game effort. Ryan had great control on this day walking only one, with 10 strikeouts earning his 7th win of the year against 4 losses.
In the night cap Jones walked three more times as Danny Frisella got the win in relief of Ray Sadecki. The Mets won this one 4-2. Buddy Harrelson got 3 hits including a 2nd inning double tying the game and then a two out RBI single in the 5th driving in the winning runs. The other run was driven in by Ken Singleton. Frisella went to 4-2 on the year, pitching 4.1 inning of relief for the win.
